PROPS 'SUMMER SIZZLER 2007' Series Coming Soon!!!
The excitement is heating up !
Wow! If you weren't there, you missed a heck of a race Tuesday night! Things are really heating up and our 'Summer Sizzler 2007' is right around the corner. We have enough 'stuff' in the 3.0 update to keep us cooking for quite awhile!! Come out and get in some valuable practice before we get serious and begin the series.
Tuesday night, we had 10 pilots come out for the fun and a nomination quickly came in to run the Sport Class practice race as we would an actual points event. Well, it had been awhile and was it ever fun!
MapleOne and Cloud Dancer took the two top spots to advance into the Gold Race in Heat 1A. Stoopy had been on hiatus and still made a great race of it as he duelled with Cloud Dancer for the transfer position until an unfortunate encounter with the horizon ended his bid. LazyEight and DeputyD also battled closely to make it an exciting heat!
Heat 1B had a few hiccups show by a couple of pilots as Haunted became disoriented
for a moment right at the start and cut through the course, ending his bid for
a transfer to the final. He would wait for the Silver Race to get his redemption.
Wombat had joystick problems and was still able to race for the lead, finishing
a close second to Freebird. Those two advanced to the final as Underdog, Haunted
and Tinman got 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively. MapleOne announced for the heat
and did a fine job calling the action. Thanks, Bob!
The Silver Race had some great talent ready for action! It appeared Haunted would
break away for the win but, he lost count of the laps and exited the course a
lap too soon! He was just a bit off his game tonight and will surely be dangerous
Thursday night! So, Stoopy and LazyEight bumped up to advance into the Gold!
They were excited to make the final, to be sure. Underdog, Tinman, DeputyD and
Haunted would wait for another day as their 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th places would
sideline them for the night. It gave Haunted a chance to be the AirBoss and Announcer
for the final and he did a fine job. Thanks, John!
The Gold Race would feature some great racers and as the six laps wound down, the cream rose to the top. Wombat took a fine win with MapleOne closing steadily and rallied for second. Freebird, Stoopy, Cloud Dancer and LazyEight would all finish their heat in those respective positions. Quite a race and thanks to those who came out!
We were having so much fun it was decided a couple heats of 3D Extreme racing would be run. Frenchy showed up very late and after struggling through major technical issues lately, he was able to stay connected and fly with us again! Great news, Kevin!
So, we stayed up late and those that were able to keep flying had a blast as
the 'Rutland Wrinkles' (Huh?)was next. This is the best(easiest!) of the three
courses to learn 3D racing and we will be back here very soon, I'm sure. Everyone
gave great reviews of the new 3D Extreme action as we rode "the rollercoaster in the sky"!!!
Excellent job, John!
Guys, it was an absolute blast and I sure hope we can get a few more pilots to come out for the fun as we get the 'Summer Sizzler' going. Stay tuned as we announce the schedule very soon!
